Dermaplaning in South Wimbledon
Removes dead surface skin and vellus hair with a surgical blade, leaving skin smooth and make-up flawless — £95.

Dermaplaning at our South Wimbledon salon
Dermaplaning is manual exfoliation with a sterile blade held at an angle to the skin. It takes off the outermost layer of dead cells along with the fine vellus hair that traps them, and the difference is immediate: skincare absorbs better, foundation sits flat instead of catching, and skin has an even tone that no chemical exfoliant quite replicates.
It is safe, painless and takes about 45 minutes. The most common question is whether the hair grows back thicker — it does not. Vellus hair has no capacity to change into coarse terminal hair; it returns exactly as it was in two to three weeks. Dermaplaning is not suitable over active acne, cold sores or inflamed skin, and it pairs well with a mask or LED at the end of the same appointment.
The South Wimbledon salon is on Kingston Road, a short walk from South Wimbledon Underground station on the Northern line and on the 57, 93, 131 and 219 bus routes. Street parking is available on the surrounding residential roads. Wimbledon town centre, Colliers Wood and Morden are all within ten minutes.
Who it suits
Congested and acne-prone skin, dullness and uneven tone, early fine lines, and anyone who has never had their skin properly analysed before buying products for it.
Aftercare
Skin can look flushed for a few hours after active treatments, and for 24 to 48 hours after microneedling. Skip make-up, the gym and hot showers that day, use SPF daily afterwards, and pause retinol and acids for a few days around resurfacing treatments.
