A Hollywood removes everything: front, labia and the back, leaving no hair at all. Izba Spa uses hot wax rather than strip wax for this, which matters more here than anywhere else on the body — hot wax sets around the hair and lifts from the root without gripping the skin, so there is less pull and far less redness on skin that is thin and sensitive.

Your therapist works in small sections with the skin held taut, which is the difference between a wax that stings and one that is over before you have braced. The whole appointment runs about 30 minutes including positioning and aftercare, and hair needs roughly two weeks of growth — about a quarter of an inch — for the wax to grip properly. If you have been shaving, wait the full two weeks: it is the single biggest factor in how good the result is.
